Moderate Tropical Storm Warning for Mozambique

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) warns that a low-pressure atmospheric system has formed in the southwestern basin of the Indian Ocean, northeast of the island of Madagascar.

In a statement, INAM says that the system has the potential to evolve into a moderate tropical storm next Thursday (January 9, 2025). However, the phenomenon does not yet pose a danger to the Mozambique Channel, as well as the mainland of the country.
