Mozambique has issued an orange warning due to the entry of tropical storm Dikeledi into the Mozambique Channel and predicts that it will develop into an intense tropical cyclone in the north. According to the National Institute for Disaster Management (INGD), some 255,310 people are projected to be affected by Cyclone Dikeledi, of whom 98,000 are in high-risk areas.
The cyclone, the second in the country in the space of a month, is expected to mainly affect Nampula province, with the warning involving the districts of Angoche, Ilha de Moçambique, Meconta, Memba, Mogincuala, Moma, Monapo, Mossurril and Nacala Porto.
