The Mozambican authorities have today raised the death toll from Cyclone Jude to nine, while the number of people injured remains at 20, according to a bulletin from the disaster management institute.
The number of people affected was 100,410. The number of families affected rose to 19,961. The National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) also points to 20,244 totally and partially destroyed houses, 28 health facilities, 22 houses of worship and one public building affected. A total of 59 schools, 182 classrooms, 17,401 pupils and 264 teachers are also among those affected by Jude, as well as six bridges, an aqueduct and 1,262 agricultural areas affected by the storm.
