Twenty dead and four injured, two of them seriously, is the preliminary toll from a collision at the administrative post of Cafumpe, in the district of Gondola, Manica province. Nineteen of the victims lost their lives at the scene of the accident, while one was declared dead at the Chimoio Provincial Hospital (HPC), where the injured were transported for intensive care.
The accident, which took place on National Road Number 6 (EN6), involved a passenger transport vehicle, known as a chapa 100, which was on its way from Chimoio to Gondola, and a truck from Porto da Beira, in Sofala province, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
