Mozambique recorded 145 work-related accidents in the last quarter of 2024, a reduction of 5.1% compared to the third quarter of the year when 204 cases were recorded, according to figures released on Monday by the government.
The city and province of Maputo, in the south of the country, recorded the most accidents, with 56 and 24 cases respectively, followed by Tete, in central Mozambique, which recorded 19 accidents in the last quarter. The data available shows that of all those who suffered accidents, 1.4% died and 14.5% acquired total permanent disability.
