The Association of United Mozambican Health Professionals (APSUSM) has threatened to resume its nationwide strike if the government remains incapable of solving the matters presented by the health workers during the dialogue between the two parties. The strike had been planned to take place as of 31 March, allegedly because the government left the health professionals behind during its programme for its first 100 days in office.
According to the APSUSM chairperson, Anselmo Muchave, the measure is aimed at pressuring the government so that it may provide better working conditions, a reliable supply of medicines, medical and surgical equipment, food for hospitalized patients, and more hospital beds to avoid overcrowding.
