The spokeswoman of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in Nampula, Rosa Nilsa Chaúque, said that tents were destroyed in Memba district, where children were being cared for by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), under the allegation that the assistance was aimed at recruiting minors to join the terrorist ranks in Cabo Delgado.
“This is a case of disinformation about terrorism that occurred at around 9 pm on March 22, in the district of Memba, when a group of ten individuals went to the place where the UNICEF tents were set up and partially destroyed the space, claiming that they were training schoolchildren there to join the terrorists in Cabo Delgado province,” explained the spokeswoman.
