The government of Mozambique has admitted to imposing rules on the use of mineral and energy resources, indicating that they should benefit the country, and has expressed an interest in “freeing up” areas considered “idle” for exploitation.
“At the moment there is no doubt for any Mozambican that Mozambique has resources of a global nature and that the time has come to also impose rules on their use, so that there is greater benefit for the country, for Mozambicans and their communities,” said the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estêvão Pale.
