Prices in Mozambique rose slightly, 0.06%, in March, mainly due to footwear and clothing. Year-on-year inflation reached 4.77%, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE).
This is the seventh consecutive monthly increase after the CPI recorded four months of deflation: 0.11% in August, 0.05% in July, 0.21% in June, and 0.38% in May. Accumulated inflation for 2024, according to previous INE data, stood at 4.15%, which compares with 5.3% for 2023 but is below the peak of almost 13% reached in July 2022.
