During a ceremony to celebrate Africa Day, Mozambique’s Minister of Education and Culture, Samaria Tovele, stated that the country is demanding the return of artifacts looted during the colonial period.
The minister was referring to 800 cultural artifacts that were looted not only from Mozambique but from all over the continent during the colonial period. The initiative is part of an action aimed at rescuing around 3,000 material and cultural goods from different African countries.
