Unknown assailants on Friday (May 2) murdered a Portuguese businessman, José Pedro Silva, in the southern Mozambican municipality of Matola, he was shot in the chest while he was inside his car. Silva was the executive director of the company Sotubos, and the son of the company’s owner.
According to Maputo provincial police spokesman Cláudio Ngulele, Silva was monitoring and collecting money from the company’s outlying branches when the attack took place at around 13h00. Prime Minister, Benvinda Levi, says that the Mozambican authorities are already working to clarify the case of the fatal shooting.
