The Mozambican government approved the carrying of a general population and housing census from August 1 to 15, 2027, to be held for the first time via digital platforms and with results in six months.
Mozambique has adopted a population census every 10 years to understand the territorial population dynamics that occur and to help to better plan to solve the population’s main difficulties. The National Statistics Institute estimates that Mozambique will have a population of 34 million in 2025, compared to 27.1 million in the last census, carried out in 2017.
