Mozambique: UNICEF has supported more than 90,000 people in three months

The security cluster, led by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), provided essential assistance to more than 90,000 people in the first quarter of Cabo Delgado, a Mozambican province affected by an armed insurgency since 2017.

The support, provided in 14 districts of the gas-rich province, which since 2017 has been facing armed conflict that has caused thousands of deaths and a humanitarian crisis, with more than a million people displaced, has given “special attention” to the most vulnerable groups, which include children formerly associated with armed groups, unaccompanied and separated children, as well as girls affected by child marriage.
