Mozambique’s water prices to fall from June

Mozambique’s Water and Sanitation Regulatory Authority (Aura) has adjusted consumer drinking water tariffs downwards, saying that the new tariffs will come into force on June 2.

The reduction is over 30% nationwide, up to five cubic meters of monthly consumption. For the regulator, improving the quality and expanding the coverage of water supply services requires the implementation of balanced tariffs, the measure of which reinforces the “equity, efficiency and sustainability of the service”.
