Bank of Mozambique guarantees that amount received from natural gas exploration is safe

The governor of the Bank of Mozambique, Rogério Zandamela, guarantees that the amount received by the Sovereign Fund from the exploration of natural gas in Mozambique remains safe. Zandamela was reacting to the Administrative Court’s complaint about a discrepancy of more than 30 million dollars in revenues from natural gas exploration in Mozambique.

Zandamela guarantees that the Bank of Mozambique has not misappropriated the amounts from this sector, recommending an investigation into other areas. The Governor of the Central Bank clarifies that his institution is only responsible for guarding the money that is sent.
