The Trump administration in the United States is considering adding Mozambique to the list of countries whose citizens could be barred from entering the United States, according to an internal State Department memo cited by Reuters.
The proposal envisages extending the current ban – which already affects 12 states, including Afghanistan, Yemen, and Somalia – to a further 36 nations considered “of concern”. The group includes three members from Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP): Angola, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe. Equatorial Guinea, also part of the CPLP, was already on the original list.
