Mozambique: child labor is visible on the streets of Maputo

In Mozambique, the number of children involved in child labor is growing and is noticeable, as in the streets of Maputo. Among the reasons given by the minors is the lack of conditions to attend school. The law prohibiting and penalizing child labor has been largely ignored by employers in Mozambique.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) estimates that there will be 138 million working children in 2024, a decrease from the 160 million estimated in 2020, when this phenomenon reached its peak.
