Mozambique: Doctors Without Borders highlights volatility of security in Cabo Delgado

Doctors Without Borders in Cabo Delgado province are facing serious difficulties in providing medical assistance to the population due to insecurity in the region. The organization has been present on the ground since 2019, two years after the terrorist attacks began.

In August 2024, there were 580,000 displaced people, and this year the figures from January to April point to 43,000 people displaced, 20,000 in April alone. Terrorism in Cabo Delgado, a province rich in natural resources such as natural gas and precious stones, is one of the most overlooked crises in the world, according to various studies.
