In a child protection report published on Monday (16 June), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) claims to have reached 26,239 people forced to flee violence in Cabo Delgado since April 2025.
According to the report, 25,554 people received mental health and psychosocial support; a further 3,558 children now have personalized case management. There are also 45 minors who, after having been linked to armed groups, now benefit from specialized monitoring, and 82 unaccompanied children have been reunited with their families or placed in alternative care.
