Gavin Dalgleish, CEO of Vision Sugar Holdings, a South African agro-industrial company, confirmed that the company is in the process of acquiring the Xinavane and Mafambisse sugar companies, located in the provinces of Sofala and Maputo, respectively.
Both companies are currently under the management of Tongaat Hulett Açucar, a subsidiary of South Africa’s Tongaat Hulett. The latter holds 85 per cent of the shares in Mafambisse and 88 per cent in Xinavane, with the remaining shares belonging to the Mozambican government. The acquisition represents a significant investment, covering not only the purchase of the companies but also the development of the operations, including the production fields.
