The United Nations (UN) has warned of “major setbacks” facing humanitarian aid in Mozambique, given the 17% drop in assistance to populations affected by armed attacks in the north of the country, compared to the same period in 2024.
The humanitarian aid in Mozambique is facing major setbacks. By the end of April 2025, only 664,000 people – around 61% of the target population in Cabo Delgado – had received some form of assistance, representing a 17% drop compared to the 802,000 people reached in the same period in 2024, said a report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
