Mozambique: Lack of funds complicates humanitarian aid in Cabo Delgado

The humanitarian crisis in Cabo Delgado continues to intensify due to successive terrorist attacks. The humanitarian response faces significant financial constraints, which exacerbate the daily struggles of displaced people to access food, shelter, and necessities. Faced with scarce resources, United Nations (UN) agencies are now opting for joint responses on the ground.

To circumvent current budget constraints, the UN has been focusing on partnerships between agencies such as UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, and others. This coordination has recently enabled support for around 31,000 people with food, shelter, and protection against gender-based violence.
