The number of accidents recorded between January and August was 430, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. This situation translates into 7,000 to 10,000 deaths annually.
At least 575 people died in road accidents between January and August in Mozambique, an increase of 14% compared to the same period in 2024, the Mozambican government said on Tuesday, admitting to “critical challenges” in road safety.
