A Portuguese citizen, aged around 60, was kidnapped in the morning of October 7th on Zedequias Manganhela Avenue in the city of Maputo, southern Mozambique. The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. when the victim, who owns a car accessories company, was exiting his Range Rover and about to enter his premises.
According to the source, some people who were nearby tried to intervene, but the kidnappers brandished firearms, preventing anyone from approaching. After the incident, the group headed towards the Maputo–KaTembe bridge.
