A low-pressure system that formed east of Madagascar evolved into a tropical storm last Friday and was officially named “Chenge.” The information was released by the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) in a tropical cyclone monitoring warning. According to the statement, the storm is expected to move towards the Mozambique Channel and could reach that region on Saturday, October 25th.
Despite its progression, INAM assures that, so far, “Chenge” does not pose a danger to mainland Mozambique. The authorities, however, continue to monitor the evolution of the phenomenon, with regular updates expected.
