Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM) plans to triple its processing capacity at the ruby mine in Cabo Delgado Province, northern Mozambique, to 600 tonnes per hour, as part of an investment of € 61.2 million.
Gemfields, which owns and operates the mine, said it represents an investment of USD 70 million (€61.2 million), excluding taxes and fees, of which USD 60 million (€52.5 million) has already been invested, and it also plans to expand the mining fleet in 2026.
