More than a dozen terrorists were killed during an ambush carried out by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in the Montepuez district of Cabo Delgado province.
The terrorists were returning from Niassa province, where they had tried to create instability, when they were surprised by Mozambican forces between the villages of Nairoto and Ntele, in Montepuez. The ambush took place near the Gemfields gold mining project in Nairoto.
