On Sunday, the Pope warned of the wave of violence in Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, calling on political leaders to ensure security and peace in the territory.
“I express my closeness to the people of Cabo Delgado, Mozambique, victims of a situation of insecurity and violence that continues to cause deaths and displacement,” said Leo XIV, after reciting the Angelus prayer from the window of the papal apartment.
