Although Mozambique has ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, thousands of minors continue to be deprived of their fundamental rights. In several neighborhoods across the country, children face situations of abandonment, violence, child labor, and lack of access to education and healthcare.
In many parts of Mozambique, childhood is forcibly interrupted by early labor, sexual abuse, neglect, or physical violence. Children who should be studying and playing live lives marked by pain.
