Cyclone Dikeledi has left 11 dead and has impacted 249,787 people in Mozambique’s Nampula province. INGD reports that 47,216 houses have been damaged or destroyed, and 43 health facilities and 154 schools have been damaged affecting 55,673 students.
By Thursday (16 Jan) morning, the cyclone had left the Mozambique Channel and was heading eastwards into the colder waters of the Indian Ocean. It no longer poses a threat to either Mozambique or Madagascar.
