Mozambique’s Interior Ministry to set up service to monitor police

The Minister of the Interior, Paulo Chachine, guaranteed that he would create an internal affairs service to monitor the actions and performance of the police, in compliance with the President of the Republic’s instructions. Paulo Chachine said that the police institutions should serve as places where people can be welcomed and problems solved.

“Our institutions must have a place of welcome and problem-solving, people must feel welcomed when they come to us. We may not have an immediate solution, but citizens should be able to say: I was well taken care of,” said Chachine.
