Mozambique: Cabo Delgado with 88 schools temporarily closed due to terrorism

Eighty-eight schools will remain closed in the first days of the 2025 school year in Mozambique, due to the terrorism plaguing the province of Cabo Delgado.

These are schools located in some communities in the districts of Mocímboa da Praia, Macomia, Ancuabe, Quissanga, Ibo, and Meluco, which will remain closed for the school year. The information was provided by the Governor of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, at the opening ceremony of the school year. Tauabo recalled that the school year is starting with the reopening of 74 schools that were also closed due to terrorism in the province, reports Rádio Moçambique (RM).
