The Energy Regulatory Authority (ARENE) announced a reduction in regulated oil prices, with the most significant reduction being in the cost of petroleum, by 17 meticais. The price of light oil fell from 87.05 meticais to 69.35 meticais per liter. Gasoline has fallen by 43 cents per liter, from 86.25 to 85.82 meticais per liter.
Diesel fell by 4.44 meticais per liter, from 91.23 per liter to 86.79 meticais. The price of natural gas for vehicles fell by 1.12 meticais per liter, from 44.52 meticais to 43.40 meticais per liter. According to ARENE, the new price reductions come into force at midnight on February 20, 2025.
