UN says drought causes “unprecedented levels” of food insecurity in Mozambique

The United Nations says that the drought in Mozambique is causing unprecedented levels of food insecurity. The UN estimates that food insecurity caused by the El Niño weather phenomenon is affecting almost 5 million people in the country.

The UN points out that this is the highest number of food-insecure people ever recorded in Mozambique. and also says that the situation is worsening due to the lack of international funding for support on the ground.
