Donald Trump points to Mozambique as an example of a “waste” of money

US President Donald Trump pointed to Mozambique on Wednesday (March 5) as one of the African countries where USAID has been a waste, justifying the executive order that cuts humanitarian support.

Trump mentioned Mozambique’s name during his first speech to the US Congress since his return to the White House in January for a second term. It is not the first time that Mozambique has been mentioned by the Trump administration in the controversy over the cut in international aid decided by the current US government.
