INAM warns of the entry into Mozambique on Monday (March 10) morning of tropical cyclone Jude, which will bring heavy rain and could cause wind gusts of up to 180 km/hour. The cyclone is expected to affect the provinces of Nampula, Cabo Delgado, and Zambézia. Tropical Cyclone Jude became the third cyclone to hit Mozambique in the last four months, after Chido (in December 2024), and Dikeledi (in January 2025).
A total of 341,000 people could be affected by tropical cyclone Jude in central and northern Mozambique, Mozambican authorities announced. UNICEF confirmed that is working with United Nations agencies and partners to preposition large quantities of essential supplies ahead of the cyclone’s arrival.
