The International Organization for Migration (IOM) needs 6.4 million dollars to support some 240,000 people affected by cyclones Chido and Dikeledi in northern Mozambique.
Cyclones Chido and Dikeledi hit the northern region of Mozambique between December last year and January 2025, with the greatest impact on the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Nampula, causing deaths and material damage with the destruction of public and private infrastructure. According to the IOM, as part of the initial “emergency” response to affected communities, more than 35,000 people have received shelter kits and non-food items since December 15.
