Mozambique is one of the most affected countries by climate change. The three cyclones in the space of four months prove this, cyclone Chido hit northern Mozambique in December 2024, cyclone Dikeledi hit also northern Mozambique in January 2025, and now cyclone Jude hit northern Mozambique in 10 March 2025.
At least six people have died and others have been injured in the municipality of Nacala-Porto and the districts of Meconta and Moma, in Nampula, due to the severe tropical storm Jude affecting the region. Jude brought down schools, health centers, electricity pylons, and houses made of precarious materials in almost every district of the province, leaving thousands of families vulnerable. Of the deaths, four occurred in Nacala-Porto, one in Meconta, and another in Moma.
