Mozambique: 34 accommodation centers for victims of Cyclone Jude shut down

At least 34 accommodation centers for victims of tropical cyclone Jude have already been shut down in Mozambique, but those affected continue to receive assistance, the government announced on Tuesday.

Mozambique is considered one of the most severely affected by global climate change, facing cyclical floods and tropical cyclones during the rainy season, but also prolonged periods of severe drought. The latest update from the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) put the number of people affected at at least 384,877, with 82,780 families also affected.
