According to the government, almost a thousand commercial establishments and social spaces have been vandalized and destroyed in the post-election protests in Mozambique, causing 50,000 unemployed and losses of 456 million euros.
Since October, Mozambique has been experiencing a climate of strong social unrest, with demonstrations and stoppages called by Venâncio Mondlane, who rejects the election results of October 9, which gave victory to Daniel Chapo. Vandalization and destruction of private property have affected the country’s economy and limited the movement of people and goods, indicating that the government is implementing actions to recover the economy.
