Mozambique: Japan provides 3,725 million dollars for humanitarian assistance

The government of Japan has provided 3.725 million dollars to reinforce humanitarian assistance in the province of Cabo Delgado, in northern Mozambique, which has been affected by armed attacks since October 2017.

The amount should reinforce vital assistance in areas affected by armed violence in northern Mozambique over the next 12 months and will support Mozambique’s efforts towards sustainable development, according to the joint statement between Japan, the United Nations (UN), and the Government of Mozambique. The money will be made available through four UN agencies, under the leadership of the Government of Mozambique and in coordination with Mozambican counterparts.
