Mozambican journalists were the victims of the biggest “escalation of attacks” in 2024, when 32 cases of violations against press freedom were recorded, an increase of four compared to 2023, when 28 episodes were reported, says MISA Mozambique’s Report on the State of Press Freedom and Disinformation.
In 2024, a total of 32 cases linked to violations of press freedom were recorded, 22 of which are linked to the 2024 general elections, the document states.
