The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) delivered 2.3 million doses of cholera vaccine to the Mozambican Ministry of Health, a country that has been facing outbreaks of the disease.
According to UNICEF, the vaccines will “help protect children and people in high-risk areas in Mozambique”. The cholera outbreak was declared on October 17, in three regions of the provinces of Nampula, in the north of the country, and in the province of Zambézia, in the center. Mozambique has registered more than 3,000 cases of the disease since the outbreak.
