Mozambique has raised 206 million dollars (183 million euros) from the first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project, produced by the Coral Sul platform in ultra-deep waters in the Rovuma basin.
In 2024, a study by consultants Deloitte concluded that Mozambique’s LNG reserves represent potential revenues of 100 billion dollars (96.2 billion euros), highlighting the country’s international importance in the energy transition. Mozambique has three development projects approved to exploit the natural gas reserves in the Rovuma basin, classified among the largest in the world, off the coast of Cabo Delgado.
