Mozambique ranks third in the world in terms of the number of people infected with HIV, and second in terms of the number of new infections. The Parliamentary Office presented the data for the Prevention and Combat of HIV/AIDS, which recommended the creation of mechanisms to increase domestic funding for the response to HIV.
On Tuesday (May 13), the parliament presented a report on the epidemiological situation of HIV/AIDS in Mozambique. According to the data presented by the Parliamentary Office for Preventing and Combating HIV, Mozambique is one of the countries most affected by the HIV epidemic in the world, with a prevalence of 12.5% in adults over the age of 15, higher in women (15%) than in men (9.5%) in the same age group.
